Bangladeshi film star Jaya Ahsan will work in a film with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Chiranjeet Chakraborty,
Decades back, Prosenjit and Chiranjeet would be pitted against each other. The stars of Bengali cinema, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Chiranjeet Chakraborty, were often thought to be staunch rivals and despite the competition, the duo came together in many films.
Now, after a gap of around 15 years, they will again be seen together in Anjan Dutt’s next, which also stars Jaya Ahsan.
Among the films Prosenjit and Chiranjeet did together are Inquilaab, Rakta Nadir Dhara, Hatiyar and Trishul.
Even though Prosenjit continued to play the lead, Chiranjeet has been seen playing important character roles; his most famous was in Srijit Mukherji’s Chotushkone.
Incidentally, Srijit’s debut vehicle, Autograph, had Prosenjit in the lead. According to a website, Swarger Kachakachi (working title) is a revenge drama about a cop and a criminal.
A source close to the unit said, ‘The director has pulled off a casting coup by bringing the two actors, who haven’t done a film together in the past decade. Also, Dutt had Jaya on his mind, as the female protago nist’s role is of utmost importance. Her look test is already done, and the camera will start rolling in November.’
Shooting is expected to happen entirely in Kolkata.
