After landmark meeting of Chinese President Xi Jinping with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 26 agreements on different projects and Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed between two countries. This important meeting was held at Gono Bhaban where the representatives signed in agreements and MoUs on behalf of their own countries at presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Chinese President Xi Jinping. On the other side, the plaques of 6 projects are unveiled. 26 projects in this visit will cost from 20 to 25 million dollar. China-Bangladesh mutual relationship was as usually good. Diplomatic relationship of 40 years still exists. People from all walks of life of the country receive this visit of Chinese President positively. Not only economical, diplomatic, and political relationship with china, 26 agreements and MoUs make this tie permanent. The agreements are boosting cooperation in counter-terrorism, infrastructure development and energy cooperation. Of the deals, 15 are MoUs and 12 are loan and framework agreements. The cooperation deals and MoUs signed by both sides also include on belt and road initiative, addressing climate change, power and renewable energy cooperation, information Silk Road, cooperation on information technology. Besides 3 hundreds kilometers of marine drive and coast protection dam from Sitakundo to Cox’s Bazar, Akhaura- Sylhet dual gauge rail line, prepaid meter for electricity development board, Mongla port extension project, Boropukuria coal-mine development, promotion of Dhaka-Sylhet highway to 4 lane and development a satellite town beside the Kornophuli river bank will get importance. The people of Bangladesh can take it in their accounts that through this historical tour of the Chinese president Xi Jinping, the relation will boost between the people of both the countries. The economy, trade and commerce, communication system, politics and diplomacy all aspects of relations will boost. As we see Bangladesh will join an international route Asian Highway that will connect India, Nepal, Bhutan and China.
